We usually perform skin prick testing, which involves placing small amounts of allergens on your skin to check for reactions.
Do I need to stop medications before testing?
Yes. Certain medications (like antihistamines) need to be stopped 5 days before testing.
Do you require a referral?
Yes, patients with a valid OHIP card must get a referral from a family doctor or walk in clinic. Please call our office for more info if you do not have an OHIP card.
How long do you have to wait to get an appointment?
Typically 4-8 weeks from the time we receive a referral.
What is allergy immunotherapy?
Immunotherapy involves regular exposure to allergens (by shots or pills) to train your body to stop reacting over time.
How long is the appointment to get skin testing done?
1-2 Hours depending on each individual patient.
